‘Thunder’ is what is known affectionately as the XR fans and from what BIG realized quickly, is that they appeal to the teenage girls, as they screamed and yelled for Jorden Kealoha-Yamanaka (J), Evan Harutoshi Doria (Haru), Wyatt Keola Dean Kaneshiro (Monarch), Shotaro Takasawa and Devin Teruya  throughout the show. The group loves their ‘Thunder’ and gave a specific shout out to them during the show.

Some ‘Thunder’ fans screamed while others waved signs for their favorite members of the band, some fans came from Oahu just to see their favorite teen band. XR brought 11 dancers from Oahu who kept the energy flowing while the group made three outfit changes throughout the show.

Miss Hawaii’s Outstanding Teen Kylee Amoroso Kawamoto is a XR dancer and did an awesome dance routine encouraging women of all sizes and shapes to be positive no matter what type of body type you have.

“We just wanna say thank you so much,” said J on his homecoming to the Big Island. “To come to the big island and receive so much aloha…it was unexpected. But, we cannot be more grateful to every single person who came to the show and supported us while we were on the Big Island. We love you and we can’t wait to come back soon!”

J’s father Mark Yamanaka who was in attendance at the Hilo Palace Theater said, “from their first concert in November 2021 at the Hawai’i Theater, they have been always fun to watch. I get tickled watching Jorden do his thing and see him grow as a performer. I hope they can continue and have a respectable future.”

The group and their entourage returned to Oahu on Sunday following the week on the Big Island, and looks forward to coming back to the Big Island when the opportunity is given.

XR was the 2022 Na Hoku Hanohano award winner’s for “Favorite Entertainer of the Year,” an award voted on by the people of Hawaii.
