Hawai‘i State Senator Lorraine R. Inouye, District 1 (Hilo, Pauka‘a, Papaikou, and Pepe‘ekeo), has appointed Rhea Lee-Moku as her legislative assistant based on the Island of Hawai‘i.

Lee-Moku will serve as Senator Inouye’s liaison in Hilo during the legislative session to represent her and respond to concerns, bill inquiries and other questions from District 1 constituents and organizations.

As Sen. Inouye goes into the 32nd Legislative Session January 18 through May 4, 2023, she is serving as State Senator in a new district.

“It is both important and of much value to provide support staff based in Hilo. Rhea will be engaged in the communities I am serving, as well as representing me at meetings and community events in Hilo while duties require me to remain at the Hawai‘i State Capitol,” said Senator Inouye.

Lee-Moku joins Senator Inouye’s permanent staff Tammie Kotani, office manager, Brad Knowlton, committee clerk and Mel Ah Ching, legislative assistant.

Lee-Moku was born and raised in Hilo. She retired as a manager of Hawai‘i Electric Light Company (subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Industries) in 2018 and remains active in the community. Lee-Moku is a current board member and past president of the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce and previously served on other non-profit boards including The Food Basket, HIWEDO, and the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island.

Rhea Lee-Moku can be contacted by phone (808) 765-1721 or email at r.leemoku@capitol.hawaii.gov.  She is excited to be of service and looks forward to serving the communities of District 1.
