An inter-agency warrant sweep conducted in the Hilo and Puna districts November 15 through November 17, 2023 resulted in the arrest of 18 wanted individuals for a total of 28 outstanding warrants. Conducted by officers from the Hawai‘i Police Department’s Community Policing Section and Special Enforcement Unit, the Department of Public Safety Sheriff Division, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, the warrant sweep arrested people for offenses ranging from contempt of court, probation violation, probation no bail, and failure to appear.

The 14 men and 4 women arrested include:

  • Ronald Cowles; Fail to Appear,
  • Deatrayn Alvarez; Contempt of Court,
  • Raven Ortiz; Probation no Bail,
  • Kristofers Quezada; Fail to Appear,
  • Joshua Sorce; DAG violation, Contempt of Court,
  • Tihani Liwai; Contempt of Court,
  • Christian Santos; Violate RBL,
  • Ian Travis; Fail to Appear,
  • Christopher Mahan; Contempt of Court,
  • Aubrey Badon-Baba; Contempt of Court,
  • Don Hiilei; Fail to Appear,
  • Alfred Keahilani; Contempt of Court, Theft in the first degree, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle,
  • Jardin Tavares; Contempt of Court, Violate RBL (X2), Discharge of Sureties,
  • Jude Quirantes; Probation No Bail, (X4),
  • Katelyn Fitzgerald; Contempt Court,
  • Malia Mahaulu; Contempt Court.
