A passenger aboard a Hawaiian Airlines flight was restrained on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, after trying to open the exit door between Los Angeles and Honolulu.
YouTuber ErnieC3 posted his experience on board the plane and his reactions after his father assisted in the restraint of the man.
The flight was operated with an Airbus A330-200 with registration N388HA. Onboard flight HA3 were 194 passengers and 11 crew members. The plane is designed so that the door cannot be opened in flight.
The aircraft departed Los Angeles at 10:20 and had a scheduled arrival time of 12:50 in Honolulu.
Crew members and an off-duty law enforcement officer were able to restrain the individual using zip ties.
The man was taken into federal custody once the plane landed in Hawaii.
