A new workforce affordable housing project is being announced today. Kihei Wailani Village consists of 81 fee-simple single-family condominium workforce homes. Buyers can choose from a 2-bedroom/1-bath townhouse, or 3-bedroom/two bath or 4-bedroom/2 ½ bath single homes. Prices will range from $329,000.00 to $638,000.00.

Peter Savio, Developer, Kihei Wailani Village LLC, recently shared, “We are excited to bring our affordable workforce housing program to Maui. Especially considering the past year and the challenging times many families have endured; we are doing everything we can to get this project moving quickly and with the highest quality.”  Kihei Wailani Village will be built by all local builders and is partnering with many other locally based companies.

A thriving idea in Savio’s company and a driving force behind this project is the idea that property ownership can serve families as a solid foundation providing shelter and roots for generations to come.

Savio has over 40 years of experience in real estate development and sales in the Hawaii market. He has been characterized as maintaining local values throughout his successes. Savio’s passion has been providing affordable housing for the people of Hawaii and is Hawaii’s largest affordable housing developer.

Both the design team and the project manager bring a background of environmentally friendly building to the development. One of the overarching goals achieved in the project is to provide the highest quality of living with the lowest environmental cost.

Design, development, and marketing services for the project is being handled by Essential Development – RainBridge Design, whose team brings a background in design, engineering, and ecology to the project, as well as expertise in solar, wind, and energy conservation. RainBridge Design’s Prime Directive is, “Providing the Highest Standard of Living, for the Lowest Environmental Cost, Your Best Return on Investment,” and they have been making solar homes since 1975.

The project is associated with the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. Interested homebuyers can pre-register a Notice-of-Interest, for this project easily by visiting the kiheiwailanivillage.com website.

There are 27 locations within the project site. Each location will have one 2 story structure, and one single or two story and be fully landscaped with starter native Maui landscaping. The Neighborhood site also features many large existing trees that will provide shade on several lots.

There are six different models for the homes and townhouses with different features depending on the model. Some of those features include wrap-around Lanais, enclosed garages or covered carports, quartz countertops, indoor laundry, walk-in closets, and double-vanity master bathrooms. The range in square footage of 1196-2447 for the different models allows for the needs of different types of families. Each model will have solar water heating, be solar electric ready, includes appliances, include a rain harvesting gutter system and rain garden, have recess LED full spectrum healthy lighting, and utilize large trellis green walls for a cooler home.

More details are available on the kiheiwailanivillage.com website including individual floor plans, detailed descriptions of model options, design features, packages, and a map of the neighborhood. Savio and the rest of the Kihei Wailani Village team are already excited to say, “Welcome home,” to the future residents of the neighborhood!”
