Hawaiʻi Island police have located 28-year-old Shanice Ogata-Staudinger who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in connection with an assault investigation.

On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, just before 8:00 p.m., Puna Patrol officers responded to the Puna Kai Shopping Center in Pahoa on a tip from the public regarding the location of Ogata-Staudinger.  Upon arrival, she was located in a blue colored Toyota Camry where she was arrested without incident.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, after conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office, Ogata-Staudinger was charged with:

  • Second Degree Assault
  • Abuse Family Household Member
  • First Degree Terroristic Threatening

Ogata-Staudinger was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. Her bail for all offenses was set at $16,000.  Her initial court appearance is on Thursday, May 18, at 1:30 p.m. in Hilo District Court.
