Honolulu City Council Chair Tommy Waters is Chair Waters announces the new Honolulu City Council website, a modern, easy-to-navigate, ADA-compliant portal designed for enhanced public engagement. A key feature of the new site allows residents to find out who represents them at Council by typing in their home address. Council members each have their own subpage, where residents can engage with their council member, sign up for district newsletters and more.
“We want every O‘ahu resident to know that their mana‘o matters,” said Chair Waters. “I personally invite people to make their voices heard by submitting public testimony, either in writing, or by signing up to provide remote oral testimony during meetings.”
Chair Waters is also pleased to announce the 2022 schedule of City Council meetings and enhanced public access to Council processes via the new Honolulu City Council website.
“We are excited to kick off this new year with improved resources for the public to engage with the Honolulu City Council. We remain committed to working with you to address the needs of Oʻahu and improve the wellbeing of our residents,” Waters said.
Please see the attached Council calendar brochure for all regularly scheduled meeting dates. The Council calendar is also online and offers links to meeting agendas as they are posted, six days prior to meetings, in accordance with the Sunshine Law.
This week, Committee Week, kicks off the Council’s year. Subject-area committees will continue consideration of legislation from 2021 that is going through Council processes.
The first full Honolulu City Council meeting of the year will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, in the Council Chambers at Honolulu Hale.
