Hilo Medical Center has updated their visiting policy in light of the increase in the daily COVID case count.
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 2021
Emergency Department:
- One visitor per patient
- All visitors must be vaccinated and masks must be worn at all times
- Proof of vaccination is required with physical vaccination card or VAMS certificate accompanied by government issued identification
- Unvaccinated patients will be encouraged to receive a vaccination in the lobby or at the Arc of Hilo
- The two-week waiting period from time of vaccination is NOT REQUIRED for entry – just proof of vaccination and identification
- All patients are allowed entry regardless of vaccination status
Inpatient Units
- During daily visiting hours, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., visitors are not allowed to bring outside food and beverages
- Eating and drinking in patient rooms are not allowed
- Masks must be worn at all times
