This is a High Surf Advisory message for Tuesday, February 16.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for West facing shores of Hawaii Island through this evening. The affected areas include north and west facing shores of Hawaii Island to include Kona and Kohala. 

A High Surf Advisory means strong breaking waves, significant shore-break, and dangerous currents make entering the water very hazardous, exercise caution. 

Due to the High Surf Advisory the follow are issued:

  • Mahukona Beach Park is closed.
  • Ocean users should heed all advice given by Ocean Safety Officials.

You will be informed of any changes that may affect your safety.
