The County of Hawaii reports the following Hele-On Bus route adjustments due to ongoing road construction on Palani Road and Ali‘i Drive from Kuakini Highway to Ka‘ahumanu Place that will be completely close the road from Sept. 22 to 24, 2020 (24 hour closure).
INTRA KONA
Will use Hualalai Road to travel to/from Ali‘i Drive—NO stops from Palani Road to Hualalai Road.
- Southbound
From Kona Commons stop will turn RIGHT on Kuakini Highway, RIGHT on Hualalai Road, LEFT on Ali‘i Drive, then proceed as regularly scheduled.
- Northbound
From Keauhou Shopping Center stop will travel on Ali‘i Drive, RIGHT on Hualalai Road, LEFT on Kuakini Highway (flag stop roadside fronting McDonalds), then continue as regularly scheduled.
6:45 a.m. KONA/SKR to HILO & 4 p.m. KONA to HILO
Will NOT service Ali‘i Drive, route will start from the Kona Commons stop at the regularly scheduled time.
ALL OTHER ROUTES that travel on Ali‘i Drive
- Southbound
Will NOT service Ali‘i Drive, routes will travel on Kuakini Highway (flag stops roadside at 76 gas station, & across University of the Nations), RIGHT on Kamehameha III Road, then proceed to Keauhou Shopping Center & continue as regularly scheduled.
- Northbound
From Keauhou Shopping Center stop will travel on Ali‘i Drive until Hualalai Road, routes will travel; RIGHT on Hualalai Road, LEFT on Kuakini Highway (flag stop roadside fronting McDonalds), then proceed as regularly scheduled.
