The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the this evening for the Island of Hawaii until 6 p.m.

At 2:55 p.m, radar indicated slow-moving thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Kona slopes, primarily 
affecting the area from Holualoa to Honaunau to Milolii, with rainfall rates between 1 and 2 inches per hour. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include… Captain Cook, Honaunau, Kealakekua, Kainaliu, Honalo, 
Holualoa, Pohakuloa Training Area and Milolii. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
