Congressman Kaialiʻi Kahele issued the following statement on President Biden’s Address to a Joint Session of Congress:
“Today, we listened as President Joe Biden delivered a message of hope to the American people. The President detailed an ambitious and transformative plan to build our nation’s resolve and resilience. The American Jobs Plan and the American Families Plan create opportunities where there were none and offer hope for a better future. In Hawaiʻi that means more money for the ʻohana, more food on the table for our keiki, and lower health care costs for our kupuna.
“I look forward to working in Congress to support the President’s vision. As he stated in his remarks, ‘Opening the doors of opportunity. Guaranteeing fairness and justice. That’s the essence of America.’ ”
