The time for comment on the California Institute of Technology’s (Caltech) Draft Environmental Assessment and Anticipated Finding of No Significant Impact (DEA) has been extended to November 4, 2021. The DEA was prepared as part of the planning required prior to decommissioning the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory (CSO) and was released on September 8, 2021. Originally, the comment period ended on October 8, 2021.

Full paper copies, including the DEA, its appendices, and CDUA are available for public review at the Hilo Public Library, the Kailua-Kona Public Library, and the Hawai‘i State Library.
