Captain Cook resident Maile Woodhall of Moana Water, a purpose-driven company and lifestyle brand focused on providing consumers with an innovative hydration alternative, was recently awarded $25,000 as part of the “Love, Tito’s Small Business Grant Program.”

Tito’s Handmade Vodka teamed up with Accion Opportunity Fund, a nonprofit that supports small businesses nationally, for the grant program, which garnered over 3,000 applicants across all 50 states, 73% of whom identify as people of color.

Woodhall was among 10 small business owners selected from across the country who embody the Tito’s Handmade Vodka values of grit, love, kindness, family, meaning and purpose.

She is the founder and president of Kona Organic, which is a regenerative enterprise and Hawaiʻi-based company aimed at providing earth-friendly solutions. She is a trailblazer in all things agriculture and sustainably focused with a career spanning from certification compliance, supply chain distribution to entrepreneurship. Woodhall is a Kamaʻāina native, and was born and raised on an award-winning organic specialty crop farm on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. She holds a degree in the Bachelor of the Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi, Mānoa with a focus on Natural Health Care and Environmental Resource Management.
