At 11 a.m. HST the center of Tropical Depression Three-E was located near latitude 11.8 North, longitude 123.6 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h). A gradual slowing of the forward motion is expected over the next few days along with a turn toward the west-southwest and then southwest.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow strengthening is expected over the next couple of days, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm tonight.

The system is expected to begin weakening by Tuesday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
