The County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management will begin repairs on the vehicle scale located at its Hilo facility beginning Feb. 8, 2023.
One lane of the scale will remain in operation to minimize disruptions for users of the East Hawai‘i Organics Facility and the East Hawai‘i Reload and Sort Station. These repairs will not affect residential waste disposal.
Users of the facility are urged to obey all cautionary signs and traffic control signs. Repair work to restore function to both sides of the scale is expected to be completed around March 8, 2023.
