The Hawaiʻi State Senate recently announced new changes to its leadership and committee assignments.

Senator Jarrett Keohokalole (District 24 – Kāneʻohe, Kailua, Heʻeia and ʻĀhuimanu) will assume the positions of Majority Floor Leader and Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Hawaiian Affairs. He also serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and is a member of the Senate Committee on Labor, Culture and the Arts.

Senator Laura Acasio, who was appointed by Governor Ige to the Senate District 1 seat, will serve on the Senate Committees on Agriculture & Environment, Hawaiian Affairs, Human Services and Judiciary. 

“With our leadership and committee assignments now complete, we will begin to move forward and tackle the tough challenges that lay ahead in this new legislative session,” said Senate President Ronald D. Kouchi (District 8 – Kauaʻi and Niʻihau). “Each of our members bring a wealth of experience, expertise and knowledge that will be critical to the work that we do in the Senate.”
